Well it is homemade, but not by us here at OOC centrale
it is a full circle very early PreA crank, believed to have been used on the Type 502 or prototype Type 527 motors before Porsche went over to using Hirth cranks
although with modern technology these cranks can spin as fast as a Hirth
we came across it in the mid 80's and have never seen another one. We decided it's better to use it than gather dust on the shelf, so it will form the heart of the new motor for the '53
The rods are standard 356 ones, although they have new small ends and have been magnafluxed, shot peened, end on end balanced and weight matched to 0.5gram
we will post more as it progresses...........
