| Here are some pictures of my Abarth dual carburator kit, installed in my 52 zwitter. The carburator kit is made for 25 Hp engine, but it's installed on a 30 Hp industrial engine at the moment. I have tried to gather some information on the carburator kit, but don't know so much about it yet. I have a copy of an article in a danish magazine from 1956, describing the carurator kit. The carburator kit was complete when I found it, minus the linkage. From the picture I can tell that it's quite similar to the CSP bell crank linkage, so that's what I'm running now. The 32 PBIC carburators were rotten, and I had to rebuild them as good as possible. After a lot of trouble shooting I was able to get it running last summer, and made a 1100 km roundtrip to Hessisch Oldendorf. The fuel line is replaced with rubber hoses until I can find the correct one (same as Ferrari 250). I have not seen a similar caburator set yet, so it would be fun if someone had seen anything like this some other place. My plan for the future is to recreate the linkage and restore the fuel line. As you can see, the details on 52-54 ferrari 250/275 are somewhat corresponding. Aircleaners made by FISPA. The manifolds are stamped with the Abarth logo and a production number. The original fuel line, very similar to the "Ferrari type". | |

| WOW!!! Well, for your first topic, you place the level quite high!!! One of my favourite preparation, as it's one of the rarest, with the Autotechnik... Do you already know how to find your fuel line? | |

| I had to start somewhere with my posting The fuel line can be supplied through a Ferrari dealer in the US. One meter of rubber hose will cost me around 400 euro, just because of the Ferrari brand? So I think I will go there when I have finished the linkage. I also believe the aircleaners should look like the ones in the Ferrari engine. Electroplated with black painted top and bottom. I see traces of this finish under the gold paint applied today. Maybe I will restore these as well? I'm not a big fan of covering old history and details with new paint, so I may leave the kit untouched. | |

| Well, actually, it depends on the finish you want... Personnaly, I would put it back as close to originality as possible, without over restoration. It means original fuel line (if in too bad condition, a new one like in the Ferraris), and original colours of the rest of the kit: body of the filters metalplated and black on the top and the bottom. A black paint, not too shiny, just to have it clean, and like at the period. Is your original fuel line still usable, or to old and with little wholes? | |

| Thats a really interesting kit. I spent some time looking at it at HO. Where did you find it? Did you ever see another one? | |

| Reminou: the fuel line is tested and leaking everywhere. I have tried some solutions to fit a new "lining" inside the old hose, but have not succeeded yet.
James D: This kit was found in Sweden, and was sitting in a zwitter when found by the previous owner. I have not seen a similar kit yet, but was very glad when I received the article and drawing from Denmark. I have read up on some Abarth history and they produced prototypes of carburuatorkits for various small cars in the early fifthies, but had to stop due to financial problems. They continued on developing only mufflers instead. I would believe that carburatorkits for other type of cars would look quite similar in the use of parts. I have searched a lot of pictures on old Abarth Fiats whithout finding much. I have a feeling there is much more to be found out about this kit =)

Eric The holes were made with an electrical drill and a holesaw, carefully meassuring and guide drilling small holes first. The rears were drilled before the rims were widened. Glad to hear you like the car better
